Puppy ate a big piece of rawhide/Should i worry?

My dog has eaten large pieces of rawhide befor and been ok, if you are really worried I'd call your vet and ask. I wonder where the rawhide goes I've never seen it come out the other end? I was giving him real bones the large ones but he would break off large pieces of that and I'd find it in his poop and it worried me that the sharp pieces would get stuck, thats why I only give him rawhide now.
