Joey graduated from doggie school tonight.

He made it level 5

Which consisted of:

Obedience with off leash distractions:
Heel, sit, down,stay and come
Distractions including people petting dog, dogs walking past and dogs playing.Dog is able to do a recall and be stopped before arriving at owner's feet.

We tried for level six which is down a down stay from 30ft away but didnt get that far so that is something we can work on before the advanced class starts in the spring. Only one dog a very smart border collie made it to level six.

Way to go Joey!

The levels are as follows and they she tests each dog through each one.

One is: Manners no biting jumping, barking or tugging on leash, allowing legs, feet and mouth to be touched and inspected.

Two: obedince on leash. Sit, down, stay come heel without resistance on leash.

Three: Obedience on leash with distractions including other dogs walking by, people wanting to pet the dog and other dogs playing close by

Four Obedience off leash. Sit, stay, heel down and come

Five: Off leash with distractions (see my post above for description)

six: able to listen to executive commands at a distance (min 30 feet) Sit, down,Stay and come.

seven: Sit down stay and come from 300ft

eight: Retrieve to locate and bring selected items from a distance by scent and direction

nine: tracking dog is able to track and locate a person

ten: protection control dog takes commands to protect and will listen to command to stop protection behaivior.

Level eight is what i would like to shoot for but realistically I think level 6 would be acheivable.

Joey got a certificate and a video as well.
