My parent's female cat, Fifi's eyes have recently changed color. They used to be a bright yellow, but now they've become more of a muddled darker yellow color. Also, when I pull back the eyelids slightly, the whites of her eyes are also somewhat dark and bloodshot.

She is an senior cat, approx. 13 years. But she's in very good health otherwise. Do you think it's cause for concern? My parents are very reluctant to take her to the vet. They have a very old school approach when it comes to pets.

Is this a new/sudden thing? Or has the eye gradually changed?

I'd say gradually, but we can't say for sure. We started noticing it about a month ago or so. I hope it's just something that come with age. :fingerscr

Can you call the vet to ask? They might be able to answer your question over the phone...
