When to chuck toys and bones?

Just a quick question...when should toys for dogs be thrown out? How about bones? I just bought a huge beef bone from Walmart for my puppy and somehow he split it in two! Should this now be thrown away?

Yes this should be thrown away. You do not want splinters from the bone to be ingested. I throw away toys when they're cracked or broken.

My auntie has a saying that works for a lot (originally intended for spoiled food...) "When in doubt, throw it out.." I think it applies here... ;)

Whenever they have begun to break apart or have been worn down to something that present a choking hazard.
