TV!! What season premieres are you looking forward to?

Prin

School has started, and it's already time to procrastinate! Yey!

All the tv shows start next week- which ones are you looking forward to?

I want to see Medium, ER, and maybe the Amazing Race (not too sure if I'll like the family version...). :)

I was looking forward to season 2 of Battlestar Galactica but Space in Canada has pushed that back to Jan 6 for some inexplicable reason . . . . while Sci-Fi in the USA is currently airing it.

Fortunately, a friend sent me a "birthday present" in the mail which happened to contain the first seven episodes in the USA . . . . . they arrived last Friday and my ball tourney was rained out Saturday morning and Carol took off to Jasper with her mother and brother for a family outing . . . . SO, that left Abby and Keeper and me with nothing to do on a rainy Saturday but watch seven hours of Battlestar!!!

What a great "debut" day!!! :highfive:

Watched the debut of Survivor tonight and that looks like a great season.

Looking forward to the Appentice.

Otherwise, I don't watch much in the way of sitcoms or dramas. Ever actually.

Hmmmm.

Law and Order (all three of them), ER, West Wing, NCIS,and Crossing Jordan. (Can you tell I spend most of my time on one channel?)

There are a couple of new shows coming this fall that look like they would be good. The E-Ring (I think that is what it is called) with Benjamin Bratt set in the Pentagon and another one on another channel (The same channel as Survivor, I think) about a woman becoming President starring Gena Davis.

I have been known to watch The Rules according to Jim (I love Jim Belushi) and I used to watch Will and Grace.

I despise "reality t.v."! I am probably one of the few people in the free world who has never seen so much as 5 minutes of Survivor.

Oh, and Rick - I haven't seen any of the new BattleStar Galactica. I can't imagine that it is as good as the original was, but then, when I watch shows like Chips and Hunter - I can't imagine what I was thinking when I sat glued to the t.v. all those years ago. :D

For me it will be The Amazing Race,CSI(original),Survivor...I only hope they keep the original cast on CSI.
That's pretty well all I watch..other than the A&E channel and the National Geographic channel.

I'm waiting for the new Martha Stewart Apprentice to start :o I can't stand The Apprentice, but I'm a self-proclaimed Martha Stewart addict-my family and friends swear I'm the only univeristy student out there with a subscription to all of her magazines.
My true guilty pleasure is America's Next Top Model-probably the WORST reality show ever conceived of, and sooo demoralizing, but I just can't help myself, the girls and tasks are ridiculous!
"my actual show" started last sunday-Family Guy. Ahhhhh my shameless programming options.
Oh and I'm a food network addict, so I'm waiting for those shows to start soon.

Time Magazine calls Battlestar Galactica one of the six best drama's on TV today. TV Guide calls it "24 in space". The New York Times had a full pager a month ago on the socio-political commentary of Battlestar. Beliefnet.com recently had a lengthy essay on the religious aspects of Battlestar.

There are no aliens . . . . just seriously flawed humans attempting to survive, people who are either agnostic or believe in multiple gods. The robots, who regard themselves as "mankind's children" can take human form, have a single god and are committing genocide in the name of their god, believing humans to be evil and destructive. . . . but they also have another hidden plan for humanity.

There is also conflict between the human military and civilian government over faith-based policies. There are dark morality plays such as the torture of prisoners, there is the issue of overt racism, there is the issue of the enemy within, not knowing who might be the human-form enemy among them . . .

Its the exploration of issues you are amply familiar with in today's world, where the humans aren't necessarily the good guys, but placed in a sci-fi setting that makes the show unique and compelling.

The homepage . . . . beware of spoilers.

http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/

It would probably be a hard show to just step into . . . . the entire first season will be repeated on Space in Canada, probably starting in October sometime. In the USA, season two is well under way but the first half will be reverting to repeats soon before resuming with originals in January. The first season DVD is being released next week. The season one finale can be downloaded at the site above though.

Very unexpected Rick. Never thought of you as a sci-fi guy!

I like old time "pulp" sci-fi from the 50's and 60's particularly, guys like Isaac Asimov and Ben Bova. Galactica fits into the genre.

Poodlettalk - Sopranoes started last Saturday night if you watch it on CTV.

Mine started sunday - Simpsons, and I love Malcom in the Middle.

I am not much of a Sci-fi person, but found myself hooked on the new Dr. Who, and it starts in December.

Hee hee hee, I was just remembering when I was working for Star Choice, a lot and I mean a lot, of old people would accidentally order "The Sopornos" on pay per view and they'd call in in a panic, 'What is this!?' Hee hee.

I forgot about the Law and Order, but I'm only an SVU fan. The others have gotten redundant lately (and I don't like the actors anymore).

And yes, Puppyluv, The Family Guy... Best show there is. Makes you feel so many different emotions- happy, sad, completely offended, happy... :D

Martha Stewart better hook me in the premiere because if she doesn't I won't take another look... (Apparently she won't do her own firing... )

Desperate house wives, The Bachelor (everyone hates me because I am too pretty......its just not fair Wahh Wahh :( )

Is anyone watching Rock Star INXS right now. ITs between JD, Marty and Mig.

I think JD and Marty have the most talent but Mig may win on cute factor.
JD's Vegas song is great but I do find that Trees song annoying.

I like desperate Housewives but usually forget to watch it. What about Boston Legal and Six Feet Under? Boston Legal is my new fave but I don't get to see it very often. Six Feet under comes on twice so I can watch it really late at night which is my t.v. watching time :) I also like the CSIs and crossing Jordon, and I have to admit I like the Gilmore Girls too although I watch the reruns on late night as well. :)

Lost and Smallville (Mmmm...Michael Rosenbaum aka Lex Luthor).

Maybe ER...but it's on too late. I go to bed at 9 pm so I don't get to see much TV.

As I have probably said before, I hate reality TV...anything that isn't fiction I can't STAND. I wish it was all gone off TV.

Oh my god I hate people like that...I mean I am supermodel pretty 5ft 10 and 98 pounds, size 2 and I eat everything and never wear makeup :D . But its all about the person inside right.

Last season on the show there was this one horrid girl that everyone hated. She ended up being on of the final three. She cried in the back of the limo driving away saying no one understands what its like to be me, everyone hates me because of my looks, and was going on how its discrimination etc etc....

Am i the only NIP/TUCK fan on here? The 1.5 hour season premiere starts tonight on f/x. I know the storylines upto episode 3.8, but i still think i will be in a ton of suspense, all until the last scene of the 3rd season finale, when they show the world who the carver is (someone we already know from the show). I have been waiting for this night since the season finale last year.

They do show the surgeries, but i have never wanted to puke or anything from them. I don't see it so much as a show about surgeries, i see it more of a wealth, sex and power show. Plus the Carver sure did scare the hell out of me. I think it is as good as the Soprano's was pre last season.

It's not puking that is my problem. It is light headiness and passing out, I only need to see the needles and tubes. I can't control it, or I haven't figured out to yet. Although sex weatlh and Power - sounds like the making of a good show to me!

It's not one of those surgery shows on Discovery if that's what you're thinking. It's (I believe HBO) show, that involves "tv surgery" and a lot of illegal/immoral exploits, sex, drugs and alcohol. All in all an excellent show :p

Me too! I love Degrassi! I've been watching it since I was little. I like the new one but I don't find it as real as the old one. The old one had more characters and it made it more plausable that every week there was a huge issue to contend with because it was never the same character... Usually...

Law and Order SVU was super scary tonight... I don't know what they were trying to imply with Stabler....

At least LOST is on tonight, a different channel. phew.

btw - I would be hooked on House, and Nip/Tuck but Puppy school is on Tuesday nights, and it's a 45 min drive for me, so it's either tape it (and find time to watch it) or miss the Tues night ones. The sacrifices I make.....

Does anyone remember a show called Curb Your Enthusiam, it is written by Larry David the guy that did Seinfeld and he is also in the show as well. It was on last season on show case. I wish they would bring it back. Apparently he plays himself on the show and basically ends up making an A$$ of himself. eg.....his wife and her friend made a nativity scence for xmas and made baby Jesus, Mary and the wiseman out of cookie dough and displayed it in their living room then Larry saw it and ate the Nativity scene. I didnt know I wasnt supposed to to eat them.

Half of mine have started... Family Guy, Medium, Lost (tonight).... the others are soon.... Charmed and Desperate Housewives (sunday).
