September 11th, 2005, 02:32 PM

Well I was sitting here on the comp.Casper was sound asleep under the computer desk in his box.Well not sure what the heck happened, but he just woke up from a sound sleep and this is what he did to me.This with his back claws.

Here is another pic.

Now some of you may not know, but Casper was born deaf.So somehow he got spooked.

September 11th, 2005, 02:40 PM
I am sure you already know this but in case you don't please go to the Dr.

September 11th, 2005, 02:47 PM
For the Cat Scratch Fevor right?

Does it matter if they are indoors though? :fingerscr

September 11th, 2005, 02:52 PM
Yes, it doesn't matter.

September 11th, 2005, 03:18 PM
Awww Mona,I bet you that hurt
I guess you should go to the doctor, personally I never did with scratches, but ended up in the ER after severe bites.
I guess no more strappy sandals for a while...

September 11th, 2005, 03:22 PM
It sure did chico...And it is throbbing now......

The scratches are pretty deep though. And my toes are a bit swollen...BUT I'm tough...LOL

I am soooooo dreading wearing my boots tomorrow.......

September 11th, 2005, 03:32 PM
Well,if it is swelling up I would go to see the doctor and they do look kind of bites from a crazed Rocky made my whole leg swell up and I had to see a wound specialist for a period of 6 weeks.I now have a nice big dent just above the ankel..
The ER on Sunday will be packed,I went on a Saturday night and waited for 5 hours.
Keep an eye on it and go see your doctor tomorrow..

His back claws? I take it he was peeling out of there and used your foot for traction!!!

We had cat who lived to be 15 and, who, for some reason, would jump up on the shower box and straddle it in the morning as I was scrubbing down. One morning he fell in and tried to grab on to me while he was heading for the bottom of the shower. Fortunately, I had my back to him or it could have been a lot worse!!! But that left some nasty scars for awhile.

I guess I don't need to mention you should clean the scratches thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide. These things always happen on a weekend!

September 11th, 2005, 04:22 PM
Normal scratches wouldn't swell your toes. This is really not a good sign. Remember indoor cats stand in litter boxes. Clean the area really well tonight and see the Dr. first thhing in the morning unless it begins to get worse.
The pictures you took, were they taken right after it happened. Your toes didn't look swollen yet.

That he did.....LOL

I did clean it.And wrapped some gauze around my foot.

Unfortunately I can't see the doc first thing in the morn.I leave for work at 4:30am.

The pics were taken about 5 mins after it happened.

Ouch! OH poor you!:(

As said, clean this thoroughly with lots of soap and water.

I"ve had this happen. I was holding my old cat on my lap while she slept. Out the corner of my eye I saw, too late, my husband reaching to switch on the central vac. Nothing I could do, and ended up with legs dripping blood.:(

September 11th, 2005, 05:32 PM
Soap and water is ok?

Would Olay be gentle enough?

It should be,this is the soap that keeps me looking younger..... :D

I have had scratches. But nothing like this.

Use whatever soap you wish, just use lots and irrigate the scratches well with lots of water too.

Olay? You must have young looking feets!!!:p

September 11th, 2005, 05:42 PM
I will definately do that.

Olay? You must have young looking feets!!!

The pic says it all........ :D

When my hair was long to my waist, I accidently used Olay Night Cream on it. I was talking to my hubby while putting what I thought was a conditioning pack on it. That stuff does not wash out! After about a dozen washings with no success, a friend's hairdresser opened up her shop after hours for me. She had to strip it with alcohol twice to get it out. But, it was wonderfully conditioned! :D

September 11th, 2005, 05:54 PM
OMG

Well I will make sure I don't make that mistake...... :p

September 11th, 2005, 11:55 PM
You mean those aren't strappy sandals? I was thinking, "oooh gotta get me a pair of them!" :D

Jemma and Boo always use my feet as "running blocks". I just never take off my sock to see the damage.. :D

If it's getting worse by morning, definitely head to the vet, er... doctor. :o (My poll says people prefer vets to drs so maybe it should be an option...)

September 12th, 2005, 12:24 AM
Ouch. Poor you. I would put polysporin on it, or aloe. Those cat scratches sure do hurt though.

September 12th, 2005, 08:21 AM
Goodness Mona, that looks pretty darn painful. I would certainly make sure that it's alright by seeing a doctor. Cat scratches can get pretty infected from my understanding and experience.

September 12th, 2005, 08:42 AM
Please take time to see your husband suffered!! and I do mean Suffered! with Cat Scratch fever. It was horrible. The lymph glands all were infected and it took months for him to feel better. Trust me, it's better safe than sorry with cat scratchs/bites.

I'M GOING TO LIVE....... :D :p

Thank you guys for your concern about my booboo. :)

It was a B***H having to wear my boots today. But I left the laces loose and double tied it... :D

The swelling was down by morning. It still hurts. But I can handle the pain. There is no infection.I feel fine, except for the pain. While we were driving around I stopped of at a walk-in and had it checked.I asked if I was going to live, the doc just looked at me and laughed...So it's all good... :thumbs up

I must say that Casper has been even more affectionate with me.Poor guy.He may be deaf, but I'm sure he knew he hurt Mommy.

September 13th, 2005, 03:02 PM
mona: clean with hydrogen peroxide (no, it doesn't hurt but will get all the guckies out), then once dry, apply polysporin.

second: learn to sit indian style cross legged. :p

You poor thing, that sucks.

September 13th, 2005, 03:05 PM
No- don't use polysporin! You'll lose the "perma-sandal" look! :D

September 13th, 2005, 08:50 PM
second: learn to sit indian style cross legged. :p

LMAO....That's how I usually sit.But figures,the one time I don't,this happens...

No- don't use polysporin! You'll lose the "perma-sandal" look!

 ...I don't want to loose that......I'm getting used to the look.... :p

September 13th, 2005, 08:56 PM
LOL You just have to sit with the right foot on top of the left so if there is ever another accident, then you'll be even... :D

September 13th, 2005, 08:58 PM

You crack me up........ :p

September 14th, 2005, 11:40 AM
Those do look pretty wicked. I thought you could only get Cat Scratch Fever through bites because it has to do with saliva. my step dad had it once, it was wicked, his arm went bright red, you could see which vien had been hit. it was awful.
Good Luck Mona_B!
