Too much attention???

Hi there....I have a 9 month old Yorkie. The past two nights he has been obsessing over me. He is stareing at me, sniffing my face and head and will not settle down to sleep. If I put him down on the floor he cries to get back up. He will not stop the sniffing. There was nothing different about me yesterday that is not the same today or any other day for that matter. Can anyone give insight into this strange call for attention??

awww. He's just lovin ya.

From a body language stand point, though, I'd make sure that I always held my nose "above" his, and make him sit before you pat him, just to reinforce who's alpha.

Welcome to the board, btw. :)

Did you change your appearance, or shampoo. I know when I cut my hair last month my lab kept smelling my head every time I sat on the floor to pet her. This probably isn't it but I just read an interesting article last week. It had to do with the dogs and their smell for illness. This one dog (looked like a shepard mix) could sense when the lady was about to have a migraine coming on...I found it interesting. Ofcourse that is if you do have migraines....

Not trying to scare you, but you should go to the doctor and get a full check-up!! Dogs can sense many things (medically) before we can, they can even detect heart problems and cancer. It's probably nothing, but to be on the safe side, please see your doctor!

Maybe you need a shower? :D Otherwise:

This could be true. It freaks me out when dogs follow me around unusually because of this. I just want to scream "WHAT?! Tell me, WHAT?!"

Have you been stressed? If so, you may be stressing out your poochie too.....

Funny stuff Prin! I heard the same. Some story I read a while back had a dog that would sniff his owner on one spot and would be almost obsessive in trying to sniff the same spot. Apparently they found out there was a tumour there.

Crazy stuff!

Thanks for all the advise....yes I thought there may be something medically wrong but no one ever wants to think that about themselves. I am beginning to think the pooch is spoiled rotten as he did the same to my roommate last night.
