I am new here!! I think it's great! I have one cat (10 year old) his sister past away last year. He is diabetic for a year now. I live in Toronto and I found it really expensive to have someone to take care of my cat when I am away. It's 40$ a day!!!!!! I am francophone so sorry for the mistake!

Wow, that's alot, most vets charge 12-15 $ but the kitty has to stay in a cage. I go away every year for about ten days and a friend comes in every day to feed my cats and give them some attention. That way the cat stays in a familiar environment and although they miss you, at least they have all the usual scents around them plus their own bed. Salomon is beautiful.
Does it cost you so much because he has to take medication? Maybe that explains it. Still too much.

Thanks for your answer!!!
I prefer to have a sitting cat (I don't know if it's the good expression, havong someone coming home). It's around 15$ per visit plus around 4-10$ a day for medication, and they have to come twice a day because he needs insuline in the morning and at night! I agree with you, it's too expesive... My friends are not comfortable to give him injection..It's really easy to do!! Well when I decided to have cats, I decided to take care of them...so it's my responsability to pay I guess!

I too had a diabetic cat,as did a friend of mine, mine lived to be 17 yrs old(unfortunately got cancer)and my friends cat, needing 2 injections per day lived to be 21 yrs old.
My son always moved in when we went away, and Peppi was fine with him giving him his shots, but my friends cat kicked up a storm if a stranger was to give her the shot,so she never went anywhere without her cat.
Salomon is beautiful by the way
