I found this site and from what I have read it seems to give fairly good explanations for pet medical issues.

I've been to vetinfo before- it's good. They keep stuff simple. :)
There is also this one, which is way more in depth and complicated:

The top one has a great explanation of chocolate toxicity. When you get to the page, scroll down a bit and you will see it.
