Farewell Dakota

"Goodnight my little Angel, sleep tight. Although your hearbeat is still, it quietly beats on in all of us who knew you, who cared for you, and in all of those involved in rescue, you are why we continue on especially on those days when we wonder why we are doing this, we will think of you and know why we must go on."

Dakota was the 7 year old Cocker Spaniel listed under Dogs for Adoption, he had been used for either breeding or research and had great mental anguish, he is now in peace and will be forever remembered by his new mom Kelly, Jane and Diane who so graciously allowed me take him into a foster home and to everyone who help this special little boy in his last few weeks to know what it is liked to be loved unconditionally.

Dakota passed away the evening of Thursday, August 11, 2005.

Goodbye Dakota, I am sorry that people can be so cruel to experiment on you and breed just for profit. You certainly deserved a better life which you will now have at the Spaniel Rainbow Bridge. :sad:

Although I never knew your sweet Dakota, my Sam went to the Bridge just moments before him at the same wonderful vet.

Sam loved dogs..heck he thought he WAS a dog..and I'll bet he's playing with Dakota and many other friends at Rainbow Bridge. :angel:

heh heh just checked out Sam's thread....there was definitely a lot of love and compassion at the vet's that thursday night!!

Sorry I missed you there too, but it's comforting to know that Sam went to the Bridge with a friend.

What a beautiful way to confirm that it is a small world.
