MotorBoat Nash

MotorBoat Nash.. what a sweet cat he was.. On a cold wet August 13th. after a storm.. I heard a weak meow.. coming from somewhere outside.. however there was a lack of frequency to it.. so I listened very hard for quite some time as I searched. Ahha.. here was this little orange marmalade kitten.. soaked to the skin.. and no one in sight.. due to his size I came to think that perhaps his Momma was moving him in this aweful rainstorm and had lost his scent somehow.. I watched for days after I found him for his feral Momma.. but she was no where to be seen.

He was now mine I gave him a much needed port in that storm.. I never thought for a moment about all this little furball was going to bring into my life.. Within no time he grew into a handsome boy.. I had him neutered.. and all that business.. he fit in well to the rest of the gang.. my oldest MaGirley another rescue I found with litter in tow years back quickly took him under her wing.. as a foster son.. and quickly taught him all the ropes.. as you see here..

He is on my mind these days as August is his " Found Month " and memories flood back in my mind.. He died June 5th 2004 at the tender age of 16 of lung cancer. He is sorely missed.. as he was such a good natured cat.. fun as well .. he loved to fetch a paper ball or a catnip toy and would as many times as you would toss it for him.. Boat as I called him had quite a loud purr.. hense MotorBoat.. and when he would return a toy.. he would sound off loudly for Your attention..

He also loved all the critters.. but ran from Poop my lop eared rabbit.. as he was forever trying to mount Boat.. and he really wanted no part of that.. However Boat would readily jump in his straw and lie down for a snooze while Poop ran around the house..

I have many a fond memory of Boat.. like in this picture when I again had a new crew member PepperPerrot.. he welcomed her right away.. just like he had been welcomed by MaGirley.. years earlier..

I loved that ole cat.. and he will go on in my memory forever..

Huggs Boat..
