The Miracle Workers Who Saved Sasha And Her Babies

I JUST WANTED TO WRITE A LITTLE STORY ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED IN THE PAST DAY WITH MY CAT AND THE HELP I RECEIVED.
MY CAT SASHA GAVE BIRTH TO HER KITTENS SUNDAY MORNING AND 12:15 A.M AND STOPPED AT 5:30 A.M WITH SIX BEAUTIFUL LITTLE BABIES. SHE HAD A HARD TIME BUT AFTER THE LAST ONE APPEARED TO BE OKAY. SHE WAS CLEANING THEM, FEEDING THEM, TAKING CARE OF THEM QUITE WELL.THEN MONDAY IN THE AFTERNOON SHE WAS ACTING A LITTLE FUNNY. SHE WAS MEOWING, BLEEDING (NOT ALOT) AND PANTING. SO I SAT BESIDE AND WAS PETTING HER WHILE SHE WAS BREATHING REALLY HEAVY WONDERING WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HER. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE STARTED PUSHING ONCE AGAIN AND I WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE I THOUGH SHE WAS DONE. WELL APPARENTLY NOT BECAUSE ANOTHER KITTEN SMALLER THEN THE OTHERS CAME OUT BUTT FIRST. SHE WAS HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT OUT SO I HELPED.BUT WHEN THE KITTEN CAME OUT IT WAS NOT BREATHING.I GOT A CLOTH AND PICKED IT UP AND RUBBED IT A LITTLE TO SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK, BUT IT'S LEGS AND ARMS WERE CURLED UP.IT ALSO SMELT A LITTLE FUNNY. I KNEW THAT IT WAS NOT ALIVE.
AFTER THAT ALL HAPPENED I CAME ON THE SITE AND PEOPLE WERE TELLING ME TO CALL THE VET AND BRING HER IN CAUSE SHE MIGHT HAVE A INFECTION. SO I CALLED EVERY VET IN MY AREA. NOONE WOULD HELP ME CAUSE I DID NOT HAVE APPROX. $200 TO GET HER CHECKED.SHE WOULD NEED X-RAYS, MEDICINE ETC. I DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR ALL OF THAT AND NOONE WOULD DO PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. SO WHAT WAS I TO DO. THEN A MIRACLE WORKER CAME TO MY RESCUE (SHANNON 1233) SHE CALLED OTHER VETS THAT WERE AROUND MY AREA TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP. SHE CAME ACROSS ANOTHER MIRACLE WORKER FROM THE CAT CLINIC IN HAMILTON LIZ O`BRIEN DVM, DABVP. SHE SAID THAT I COULD BRING SASHA AND HER KITTENS IN WITHOUT PAYING UPFRONT AND THAT I COULD MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS.EVEN THOUGH IT WAS AN HOUR DRIVE I DIDN'T CARE CAUSE SASHA LOOKED TO ME THAT SHE FADING RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES.SO I CALLED MY BEST FRIEND CRYING ASKING HER TO BRING ME TO HAMILTON RIGHT THAT MINUTE. SHE CALLED IN HER WORK AND SAID SHE COULD NOT COME IN AND DROVE ME ALL THE WAY THERE.(CAN'T DRIVE MYSELF BECAUSE I AM EXPECTING IN A FEW WEEKS AND WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE A LONG DISTANCE).
SO WE BROUGHT SASHA IN AND LIZ LOOKED AT HER, GAVE HER AN X-RAY, SOME MEDICATION, AND SOME FLUIDS.WE SET UP PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS AND THEN WE WERE GOOD TO GO HOME.I JUST THANK GOD THAT WE HAVE VETS OUT THERE THAT CARE ENOUGH TO HELP PEOPLE WHO DESPERATELY NEED THEIR HELP, AND PEOPLE WHO WILL KINDLY HELP OTHERS OUT WHO DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY TO TURN.
THIS IS JUST A STORY I WANTED TO SHARE TO EVERYONE TO SHOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE WHO REALLY DO CARE AND WANT TO HELP.THANK YOU SO MUCH
AND TO LIZ O`BRIEN I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THAT YOU DID FOR MY PRINCESS. I AM VERY GRATEFUL.
ALSO THANK YOU TO SHANNON 1233 FOR ALL YOUR HELP, YOU HELPED SAVE MY SASHA'S LIFE AS WELL AS HER KITTENS. :thumbs up

Awww Tricia, thank you! You really didn't have to put my name in there, I'm in tears now. I am in NO WAY a Miracle Worker, nor involved in Rescue. Many here on this website are, and I don't know how they do it! Thank you all for that
I'm so glad your princess and kitty's are doing so well. Thank you for taking them in! I'd also like to thank The Cat Clinic in Hamilton, as the vet you mentioned Liz, had never heard of me before yesterday, but was very caring and took care of all of you. As you said, many other vets wouldn't help without the $ upfront.

Please don't forget to make the appointment for spay/neuter. We don't want this close call happening again :grouphug:

I just hope anyone reading this who thinks "I"ve got two purebreds - Why not let 'em breed? Cute puppies/kittens and I can make some money!" will see it's often neither fun nor profitable.

Tricia, I'm not saying YOU did this to make money but many people do.

Also, Tricia, kudos to your friend Liz O'brien for driving you to the clinic, and to you too, for seeking help, and following up on it.

I'm so glad momma and babies are all doing well. :)

:D This is a perfect example of what should be done with new posters, instead of coming down hard and scaring them away!!!

HORRAY for Shannon, you helped save these kitties lives with kindness, instead of judgement!!! :D

Just Wanted To Update That Sasha Is Doing Great. She Looks Better And Even Acts Like She Is Feeling Better. Her Kitties Are Getting Bigger And Soon Enough Will Be Opening Their Little Eyes. Can't Wait To See Them. They Are So Beautiful.
