Is it possible to have 2 different breeds of cats living together?

We have 2 medium hair cats about 10 months old.

Today, I found an itty bitty kitty wandering around our apartment complex. I didn't want him to get in the wrong hands of anyone so I took him in. (Actually, I'm not even sure what it's gender is yet) This kitten I found is very small, and a long hair cat.

One of our cats is getting along okay with the kitten; they were sort of playing together. The other cat you can tell feels completely threatened by having this kitten here. As soon as the kitten is in eyesight, Maverick gets ready to pounce and starts hissing and growling. We haven't decided if we're going to keep the kitten yet, but if we do, will our cat grow out of his attitude?

Of course you can have different types together. Don't worry they will figure things out. Have you ever heard of the people that have hundreds of cats living together.

I've had all different types of cats at home many times, they don't always get along at first and every once in a while they will have a spat but in all they can live togeather, it takes time.

You need to introduce them slowly, if your cat is not happy with the new kitten, plus you need to take the kitten to the vet first to make sure it's not going to give illness or parasites to your cats.

Some male cats will attack and even kill very tiny kittens. So keep the baby separate for now, and let your cat slowly get used to his/her scent and sound before gradually introducing them.
