We were talking about how to use quotes in another thread, and I thought I would start this thread. Well, mona_b thought I should start this thread. So here it is. Any discoveries that would make our lives easier are welcome.

Here's Safyre and my explanation on quotes:
Highlight the text. Copy. Press "Reply". Paste. Highlight what you've just pasted. Press the Quote button (yeller one with the lines in it at the far right of the buttons ). Then, it's going to say QUOTE with bracketies everywhere. Between the first QUOTE and the bracket, that's where you put the =name. Is that ok? This next one might be clearer:
if you want to do another quote from the same person, or another person, all you have to do is:

Copy the text you want to quote into your reply. Then, with that info highlighted, press the QUOTE button (the one that looks like a bubble with lines on it) You will see [ quote ]
at the beginning and end of the text. if you want to show who it is from yuo would add = Safyre to the first quote ... so it would look like this
without the spaces

And this is my attempt at explaining how to get a quote within a quote. After you've copied and pasted all the quotes you want to use:
Shade the last quote and press quote, then add the name. Then shade the second quote up to the end of the last quote bracket of the first quote and so on. You have to work backwards.

Another thing I learned is with pm's. When you send a pm, the pop up says, "Request read receipt?" If you press CANCEL, you don't request it. The message still sends, you just don't fill up your mailbox with read receipts. :)

Anybody else?

I'm having double vision...oh wait Prin's quoting again LMHO

You can highlight any of the text after you type it and then hit your selection for bold, italic, centred, colour etc.....You have to highlight it each time though...for instance:

This is just highlighted and bold

This is highlighted and bold then underlined, have to re-highlight it to do the underline

This is highlighted, bold, underlined then centred

Ok enough PLAY TIME

HAHAHA

Yes but to have multiple features in your text, you have to highlight only the text, not the brackets and junk from the previous change...

My new discovery for today. . .

If you want to report a bad post, or something you feel the admin or moderators should take a look at - click on the red & white triangle with the exclamation point. . ..

Just click on the exclamation point in the triangle on the right side of the same row where the date and time of every post is located

I love this site for adding smileys. http://www.bestsmileys.com/pageindex.htm
You pick the smiley you want, and highlight all the writing (including both[
and ]), copy it, then paste it anywhere in the thread you want :D
