Could annual shots have caused bad breath?

July 5th, 2005, 10:42 PM
Zachary, 10 year old miniature schnauzer, had his annual shots on June 28th. He was diagnosed at that time with a heart murmur. He has never had bad breath, and in fact the vet commented on his good teeth. Since he had his shots, his breath is horrible! Is it possible that he's had a reaction to the shots or could this be a reaction to his heart condition? bTW, he goes in next week for x-rays to see how much trouble he has with his heart. On another note...he's getting LOTS more exercise now that Dusty has arrived :) and it doesn't seem to be doing him any harm.

No idea about the bad breath, but personally I wouldn't be giving a 10 year old dog any shots, other than the rabies vax every 3 years as required by law.
