I make a nice pasta salad without mayo...

fusilli pasta
olives
1 to 2cm-cubes of cheese
read/green/yellow/orange peppers (or any crunchy veggie)
green peas
fresh basil leaves

mix all together with your favourite dressing - I usually make a very simple olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing, with salt and pepper.

Have fun at the bday party!

Here is a super easy and fast one.

Noodles shaped like little shells cooked and cooled (or whatever is in the cupboard :D )
parmesean italian salad dressing by kraft to taste.

Thats it!

cold tortelloni salad:

2 bags Barilla tortelloni (i use the spinach/ricotta kind)
1 jar Classico pesto
1 green pepper, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
boneless, skinless chic breast

cube chic breast, cook in skillet w/ fresh garlic & extra virgin olive oil.
cook tortelloni.
mix all chopped veggies, chic & garlic, pesto, and tortelloni.
chill overnight.
sprinkle fresh parmesan cheese before serving.

Penne noodles, whatever vegies you prefer, feta cheese and Kraft greek salad dressing.
Mix/Toss/Serve

it's really good with sundried tomatoes too (if you like them)

Cooked spaghetti noodles
jar of "Salad Supreme" seasoning
Bottle of Zesty Italian dressing

Mix those three together and let sit in fridge overnight. Right before time to serve, add veges and toss. I normally add tomatoe chunks, cucumber slices and black olives but I've seen it with cauliflower & brocolli or slices of different colored bell peppers (green, red & yellow). It's good because even if it sits out for a while, you don't have to worry about it going bad. It will stain your clothes something terrible though! :)

OK, I know this thread's a little old... :o

I had a cold pasta salad at a friend's house a while ago. I absolutely LOVED it, and I'm not usually a fan of cold pasta salads. Go to Costco, buy the package of pine nuts - there's a recipe on the back for a pine nut/pesto pasta salad. Yummers!! :D Sorry, I haven't bought my pack of pine nuts yet, so I can't give you the recipe. Soon as I do, I'll be sure to post it back here for y'all! ;)
