Can your cat have too much pumpkin?

My cat does not drink enough water and has problems with constipation. I took him to the vet who suggested giving him up to 3 tbls of pumpkin per day. That did help the problem, but he also LOVES the pumpkin, so I have been giving him 1-2 tbls every day as a treat (even when he doesn't appear to be constipated).

The other day I noticed on the pumpkin can that it has 300% of the recommended daily requirement of vitamin A. My question is, can feeding pumpkin every day be bad for my cat or can I continue it as a treat?

Instead of giving all that pumpkin, I suggest you give your cat canned food. It's mostly water and is particularly beneficial for neutered males.
