k, Now that dh isn't here, I have to clean the litterbox myself. And being that I am expecting, have the litter box lined with a bag. When I go to change it, I put on gloves and a mask, and just tie up the bag, and throw it out, and put a new one back in. I was wondering if anyone has seen a cat that uses the toilet? I was telling someone on what I have to do to change the cat box, being that dh isn't here, and it just crossed my mind. Is that possible? Would I be nuts for trying to train them to use the toilet?

There are lots of website devoted on training your cat to use a human toilet. . . one things for sure, is that it takes a long time, and its easier if the cats have a toilet 'to themselves' while learning. . . .

Thanks, told dh about this, and he thinks I am a goof. He if it will help us save money, and will be cleaner, I don't care what people think. He said he doesn't care, as long at the toilet doesn't get full of cat mess.... HAve already took the first step and put the pan by the toilet. Tomorrow I will put it up on a phone book. All we have are the 4 inch thick ones. But that will work just fine, will have to keep just one for a few days instead of highering it everyday. THANKS JDG!!!!

YY's mom was toliet trained and I considered it but cats who use a human toilet can develop arthritis and otjer probs later (since it is not a natural way for them to have to sit when doing thie biz) so I opted to protect my baby's health even tho it would have been simpler for me. Her mom - a blue point Siam - no longer uses the toilet either. She is back to her litter box, a more natural avenue for a cat.
