My best friend died today

June 8th, 2005, 01:07 AM
It started 13 years ago. I was blessed by the presence of a beautiful female Doberman I named Princess. She was underfed malnourished and just not taken care of. I brought you home from the pound and cared for you and and in return you gave me protection, companionship, and above all all of your trust and love. You never once ignored me. As always you was there. Whenever I felt sad you knew and comforted me yet today for the first time I could not help you. Your body grew weak. Yet you laid there wanting to please me. I carried you up and down the stairs for two months just so you could be outside and comfort you. I love you so much and today you are gone. I love you so very much and pray to god that he welcomes you to his world your are my best friend and my baby and I will never forget you. I love you so much I wish I was there with you. Until that day god bless you little girl I will always love you forever.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. It is always very difficult to lose your best friend. You were able to rescue her and give her a life full of love and companionship. She is now free of pain and is with many friends.

I too am very sorry about your loss. It is not easy losing a pet. I have lost 3 in the last 8-9 years. My thoughts are with you. Time will heal your pain.

Your post brought tears to my eyes. Your Princess was indeed fortunate to have found you. Nothing brings more joy, and sorrow when we lose them, than that special relationship you two shared together.

The first 3 days are the worst. Last Friday as I mentioned in another topic one of my dogs whose name was Beauty died and she was only 8 years old. I have 5 more and it is still unbelievable how much we all miss her and the house seems to be empty w/o her around.

Life goes on, so the best thing to do is to go to the pound and give a home to a new friend in need of one.

ahh Kdaniel I am so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the memories and love you shared.

Even though doggies can't talk I am very sure she knew how important you were in making her life happy and healthy
God bless you

:sorry: for your loss. I lost my golden boy at Easter. Princess and Champ and all the others are heathy, happy, and playing at Rainbow Bridge until we can be reunited with them again. And part of Princess will always be with you too.

My eyes are full of tears after reading your post. I am very sorry about your loss and commend you for rescuing her way back then and giving her a happy life full of love. She is free of pain now and is waiting for you on the other side. When you are ready, I would suggest that you go to a local shelter and give a needy and lonely dog the kind of quality life that you gave Princess.

I am so very sorry, and I am crying with you right now.
I believe she has gone to a better place, and I'm sure she is watching over you, Princess, your guardian Angel.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved dog. I tell my clients (I'm a psychologist) that though grief is great, it is proportionate to the amount of love we give...I would rather give my heart freely even knowing I risk great pain at the time of loss.

Some people underestimate the devastation of the loss of a pet. It's nice to know there are so many here who understand how awful it can be.
