Anyone ever brought their dog to niagara falls for a day trip?
I've only been there once or twice, so I don't really know what there is to do there that is dog friendly. I was thinking of planning a day trip one weekend this summer.
Anyone know the area and can make suggestions? doesn't have to be just the falls, can be anything in or around that area, like parks etc outdoors that we can bring the dog to.

i think its fine, you just need to have bags and pick up his droppings.
make sure to bring lots of water, if you buy bottled water down there its likely to cost you a fortune.
not sure if any of the restaurants wil allow dogs tho

I've never been down to the area where are the wine is made....anyone know where that is? We would love to pic up some wine too while we are there.
I've lived a sheltered life...I can count the number of times I have left the GTA on my fingers!

Just be prepared for it to be packed with tourists. A lot of Asians go there for holiday and casino gambling. Not all appreciate dogs. :) We avoided the falls like the plague during tourist season. If you can go midweek it's not as crazy.

Mel, want a pic of the niagara escarpment? Here ya go! We have an almost 270 degree view of the escarpment from our apartment. It would take 5 or 6 pics to get it all...so here are just two. This is the first looking south south west (towards where niagara falls is in relation to where I live). The escarpment is the dark line in the horizon...it stretches for miles!

I've been to Niagara and to Niagara-On-The-Lake many times. Both make wonderful day trips. I prefer Niagara-on-the-Lake personally though. I'm not sure if you would be able to take dogs on the wine tours. You might want to double check.
As for the actual city, taking a dog would be fine. Remember to bring lots of water because it can get pretty hot and being that it is a touristy area, very expensive to buy anything there!
I've seen many dogs and their owners at niagara on the lake. If you want to eat there, you will have to eat at a patio because no dogs in restaurants. The restaurants there tend to be a bit on the pricey side, but you could always go into one of the more affordable ones pick something up and go to the park for lunch.
