some progress/

June 5th, 2005, 10:11 AM
this morning Sam got into the toybox. I called out "sam!no!"

and i hear this small voice behind me yell "sam!no!"

blink blink blink

yep you guessed it, issacs first real communication I know its not much, but from him its a world of progress.

ive been working with him using some flash cards and trying to see if he will repeat things i say

for example im making spagetti for supper, issac is beside me and I look down at issac and say mmmmmm spagetti.

I then ask him to say mmmmm spagetti.

he doesnt do it normally,

but this morning when I scolded sam i had the shock of a lifetime.

he may not be up to par with his peers, and he may never be, but hes still my sweet perfect boy.

on another good front, the doctor now seeing issac is affiliated with McMaster university. wich i know is a good hospital since thats where issac was born. So i now trust the doctor a bit more knowing he comes from a good background at least.

Ooooooooh that moment must have made your whole year!!!
Yaaaay Isaac! How wonderful for both of you!!!!!
I'm glad you have good feelings about the doctor now, too.

See how good pets are for kids? :D

Maybe you can use Sam a bit more when you are working with Isaac. Sam might just fill some gap (in the way of inspiration) for him- you never know.

You're working hard to help him, Eleni, and it must be great to see your efforts paying off.
