Uh...kitty is overly friendly to Mini

May 24th, 2005, 01:20 PM
Any idea how I keep my cat from uh...breeding with my girly dog? He hasn't done this before, but seems to be caught up on Mini. I constantly walk in on stuff like this:

Although this one shows Mini nibbling on Chance's ear. Maybe I should get them a room.

All kidding aside, Chance gets a little rough and bites Mini and Mini has an expression of WTF? How do I stop this? Everyone's fixed so should there still be these urges? And can I make a pay per view web site? (sorry topic drift)

neutering him will solve the problem if he isnt already neutered

ah I just saw he fixed.

do you separate them everytime he does it?

That's too funny! I've seen animals do it with stuffed animals before, but never an animal of a different species, and a live one to boot!

I would get the kitty his own "toy" cat, or something that looks similar in size to your dog. Obviously your dog doesn't mind, but I know cat bites can be a bit worrisome, and I don't think you want a trip to the vet when the cat breaks the skin.

It's perfectly normal for a fixed male cat to do this, although, like I said, I don't think I've ever seen a cat do it to a dog before!

Yah I seperate him, he meows and then licks unholstered equipment. He just casually remounts. It's not like he's gyrating but it still can't be good.

I think I would still get him a "toy" to play with. Something cute and fuzzy he can be friends with. Maybe he'll leave your poor puppy alone then. You could always use a water bottle to let him know it's not acceptable.

It may be normal, but it's not acceptable public behaviour. :p

Are there blow up dolls for cats? Oh, never mind- the claws would put an end to that in a hurry :D .

I got my bunny a plush rabbit - he loved it!! He was neutered but still liked to hump his little beanie Buddy, lol

LOL I do not know what to tell you but those pictures are priceless the poor dog is prolly thinking I feel so used. LOL  ;) I would go with the water spray bottle but that is me I would not like my animals doing that. I know that you can get them something else to be "friends" with but I would try and put a stop to it! :)

Yah, I definately don't want this to be a regular thing. I know Max will do a domination thing every so often but that's cuz he's the boy wienie dog. Mini will just grab him by the ears and pull when he does it. With Chance, she just sits there and has that "look" on her face.

My two MALE neutered cats start fooling around every day around 2:30,Chico will prance around meowing and my Rocky will wake up from his slumber, ready for some fun
I swear they are gay....Rocky will do everything, including grabbing Chico's neck, but of course that's only how far it goes and I usually break it up.
My other cat,Vinnie, will use a plush pillow in the livingroom as his girlfriend and that's ok :D
I really don't think it's anything to worry about,as long as your poor dog does not object.
Neutered males do still get sexual feelings and although a stuffed toy would be preferable, your cat, like mine,is now used to a living mate :D and it will be difficult to stop him.

If you are ok with him using the stuffed toy, no problem. If he goes back to the mini, I would do something about it (water pistol). He could hurt her back.

I don't really have any suggestions - I just had to say that after the last two threads I read, this was a very welcome chuckle! Personally I wouldn't be able to do anything about it because I would be laughing too hard! I've seen dogs that'll hump just about anything, but I have never seen a cat hump a dog! I know that you probably don't find it funny - but I think its hilarious!

Actually the main reason for the post was to offer people chuckles and pictures to send to their friends. I'm not OVERLY worried and it only lasts as long as the bite. Normally I just find the dogs fur a little wet were Chance was drooling. I've got stuffed animals all over this place but the cat has to have Mini. (Can't blame him, she is a cutie)...what did I just say? Anyway I'll see what happens and I'll arm myself with a spray can. Maybe silly string :o

Those are the funniest pictures I have seen in a long time!! I bet everyone's gonna start seeing them come around in emails with funny quotations under them!!!

:D Haha! Thats so cute...
I've never seen anything like that b4...
Since the toys havent worked try seperating them
spray bottles, as others said may work. My female dog
used to do that to everything after she got spayed but shes
okay now. I think it will pass as long as your cat knows its not ok
to do that. I just would try to make sure it never happend and tell her
No when she started. Anyways, good luck.

The only think I thought of when I took the pictures were:
.................................................. ...........OWNED! or Who's your daddy now?

May 25th, 2005, 05:24 PM
