Too much grooming?

 How much is too much grooming??

Minou grooms Marty like there is no tomorrow. . .

Both kittens do groom themselves, but Minou concentrates a WHOLE TON of time in cleaning Marty. (He doesn't return the favour with the same zeal!)

We timed her last night, and she licked Marty on the chest in the same spot for 35 minutes. . .how dirty can Marty be? :p

I took a picture of Marty's chest - this was about 20 minutes after she finished. . .so he was starting to 'dry out' a bit ;) The fur that has been 'cleaned' feels almost powdery and it looks a little matted.

I've checked Marty (and Minou) for fleas or other skin irritations, and they visited the vet last week with a clean bill of health.

I'm sure this is just normal, it just seems excessive. . . :p

Anybody with 2 or more cats - do you guys experience the same thing????

(the picture doesn't show up all that great. . . . :sorry: )

I would say that is not normal, and if this continues, it can cause sores.

When you see her do this, give her 5 minutes and then either remove her or distract her with toys or cuddles to break the habit.
