sleeping too much

How much sleeping is too much for a dog?

Odin sleeps...almost all day and all night! I know he has been sleeping more lately because it has gotten warmer, and I think he just loves to sleep in warm sunny spots!

He gets 4, 30 min walks a day minimum, and he is up and about on and off all day. Is that ok?

He's a bulldog so I assume this is normal. Today he got up for a walk at 5:30, was up till about 7 am, went back to sleep with me till about 10:30, then up again, ate breakfast, walk around 11:30, back home and he's been sleeping since then, on and off...

We tallied up a normal day and Jemma and Boo sleep basically 18 hours a day. And they are awake around 6 hours. My doggies sleep a lot.

May 9th, 2005, 04:17 PM it's probably normal for him then.

yesterday he spent most of the day outside at my BF's parents house in the backyard, sleeping in the shade.

Oh well, if he visited someone yesterday, chances are you won't see him at all today...

Hazel sleeps alot - but it is mostly during the day and then she wants to play during the night! :o She is getting better about sleeping at night - but she still thinks that she needs to get up at 3 am to eat (she likes her food :D ) but since we have her confined in our bedroom at night, I have to get up with her!

I think Odin is perfectly normal. ..

I have been doing research about how much/how often cats sleep. . . (I could give you websites. . .although most of them are about cats :p :p ) The average does seem to be 16-18 hours a day.

I am home/around home most of the day (I'm not currently working) and it seems that every time I'M IN THE MOOD TO PLAY the kittens are sleeping and vice-versa!
