I have 2 blue-cream cats. I want to know if the skin under a cat's hair is similar to the fur color. Their hair is blended gray and tan, so what color would their skin be? My other cat, a cream tabby, has stripes-would his skin reflect this?

I am not a cat genetics expert...but it seems to me that cat skin is pretty similar in colour.....beigy-white-pinkish. but the tones can vary widely.

I don`t think fur colour has much to do with skin colour. And for sure your striped does not have striped skin.

But why is this important. The cat`s skin will be covered in fur anyway.

I just thougth I would let you know that my two cats were spayed on monday . I was checking their incision and noticed where they were shaved that the skin color was the same as teh fur color. When part was white fur was white skin and same as stripes and spots. Hope this helps with yoru curiosty

Just thought I should tell u my son says I am wrong that the color i am seeing is the new hair growth and not the skin after all. I still think the skin is striped but will not argue wit hhim about it.
