Dog found with chain embedded in neck

Officers with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control are looking into an apparent case of animal neglect.

A female Shar-Pei was found Saturday dragging a heavy metal chain from her neck.

The weight of the chain had embedded her collar so deeply into her neck that it was cutting through the skin.

County workers are trying to track down the dog's owners. They could face animal neglect charges.

The dog is being held at Animal Care and Control while she recovers.

It's a pretty common occurence around here. I have had to pin 4 month old pups to the ground and use bolt cutters to cut the choke chain off which was padlocked in tight position. People are sick. :sad:

They wouldnt even show his whole neck on tv last night,but from what i could see it was really really bad,but his tail was still wagging,dogs just never cease to amaze me...........
