Last week, a patient who was leaving hospital - and it is ever so wonderful and gratifying to see that happen - gave me a gift as a token of appreciation. It turned out to be a book containing stories about cats - I read it in one sitting, started on a plane trip from Fredericton to Halifax actually - and finished it later that night so it is one that can be read quickly. But the stories were about cats in Canada who have accomplished interesting or inspirational things - like Simon Teakettle who writes a column and the cat whose name became "Got to Go" because that was what the manager of a hotel in BC kept saying when he saw him - that cat has "got to go!". Obvuiously, the cat did not go and became a ficture in the hotel.

The book is entitled "Great Cat Stories" and is edited by Roxanne Willems Snopek. It is available at Amazon: http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/ASIN/155153777X/qid=1114898784/sr=8-10/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i10_xgl14/701-4933545-9280322
