Mein Lenin

Make this your MUST see foreign film!! It's about a guy whose mom is a fierce communist and she falls into a coma and wakes up after the Berlin wall has fallen. The doctor says she can't have too much stress, and can't be upset, so the son tries to recreate old communist Germany for her, so she won't find out. Everyone around her gets involved too. It's a really good movie. Really.

I saw it also. It is excellent. It went under the english name of "Goodbye Lenin" when it came out.

I've always meant to see this movie, but have not had the chance.

The plot reminds me a little bit of Zhang Yimou's Happy Times, another story about benevolent deception, although I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.
