Filthy cat ears

April 25th, 2005, 03:34 PM
I was just inspecting my cat's ears and I bet I could plant something in there - yikes! Is cleaning something I can do myself with the right solution or will a vet definitely need to do it?

A cat's ears are imperitive to it's survival. Without the proper balance, a cat can fall to it's death. Please speak to your vet about having them cleaned. If your cat is fairly easy-going at the vet's office, it shouldn't cost very much to do at all.
I, personally, would never put anything in a cat's ear without the express "okie-dokie" of a vet.

Take your baby to the vet and have them do it and show you how to do it. You can buy the stuff there and than do it at home from than on. If your vet thinks it is okay and you think you can do it. But never put anything in your cats ears with out the vet saying okay and teaching you how to . :D

Filthy ears are often a symptom of earmites. Glad you're having kitty checked out!!:)
