Hey Blaze

I'm not sure if Siberians are too strong willed to be deterred by the shocks... I know a lab that didn't care-- he'd run up the road with pain in his eyes but he didn't care...

I love this fence and swear by it, Blaze and Jordie both do very well with it, they have many feet of beeping before any shock can;t tell you the last shock they had. I know many people with this fence, many different breds of dogs and no one I know had any trouble with their dogs running through the fence. I went to them before buying my fence and asked many questions, I have no worries about my boys running though the fence no matter who or what is walking by. I can not say it enough, it is all in the traning of each dog and if you follow the traning as told it does work and works well. :thumbs up One person I spoke with before deciding about this fence used it for two labs... they never ran through the fence even when I walked by with my lab and Jordie. They really do work well.

A siberian has such a thick coat (as do goldens) that many people will resort to shaving their necks for a snug fit. It's an electric impulse, much like a shock collar. I think they are horrible and don't protect your dogs from other animals that can wander onto the property. And if the dog is shocked while leaving they may never return on to the property out of fear. JMHO though... to each their own I guess. But I couldn't resort to sending and electric impluse through my dog.

sammiec I once felt the same as you do honest but after learning more about the newer fences I have no problem putting them on my dogs. As for how tight they are, the collars don't even touch their skin. I have them so loose that the beeping is all they hear, if they go further they still won't feel anything as it is hanging down to low to touch them. With that said ...I do that because I KNOW my dogs will not try to leave, there is no stray animals around here to come get my dogs all the dogs that do live near me are friends of my dogs and come play anyway... I have over 1000 feet of fence, they go no where near the line too much room to play.

I'm not trying to start anything, honestly, that's what I wrote JMHO (Just my humble opinion)

Have you tried on the collar to see what kind of shock these things can deliver to you, let alone an animal? I know some people that have tried on the collars and after that they would NEVER subject their animals to it.

I don't mind talking about this honest... you have a right to you opinion too :) I did try the collar before putting it on my dogs and honest it is like when you walk in front of a TV and get a shock. Lets realize there are more then one fence on the market, some have 5 different shocks all stronger than the last. This fence doesn't adjust it come with one shoch after the beep and it ok for any dog 8 lbs. Please understand when I tell you and this is the honest to god truth Blaze and Jordie don't get shocked, they stop long before the beeping even starts. People see this and are shocked how well they are trained, they have been very good on this fence and I will continue to use it as it works great of us. Some other people might not be as lucky but I know we do well and enjoy their freedom. :)
