I found a travel agent, Pets Can Stay. They have pre-approved accomodations that provide bowls, leashes, treats, etc. when travelling with your pets. If you are travelling to an area where they do not have pre-approved accomodations, they will still research and find places for you to stay with your pets.

We all know how hard it is (unless you are Catcusflower) to find places that will accept our furbabies, so I thought I would share this resource. I have labelled it as Canadian, as I did not ask about beyond our borders.

Is there a link or is it just via phone?

I filled in the parameters I wanted on a website and then they contacted me by phone. I wasnt sure what I could post here and what I could not, as far as "promoting" a for-profit company

I think it's ok as it's pet related and of interest to people who want to bring their pets along instead of boarding them. I dunno, maybe one of the mods will know?

I have travelled with my pets and encountered few problems tho I always make copious plans and research ahead of time, much in the same way one would if one were travelling with an ill relative or small children. The airlines - even Air Canada and especially Delta - have been curteous and of good assistance and even VIA Rail went out of their way on the one trip I took with YY on the train. She had to remain in the baggage car but I was able to sit in the coach next to it and to visit her as often as possible. It helped that the head conductor is the grandfather of a former patient and loves a hospital I am affiliated with. :) And another female conductor spent as much time as possible talking with YY and yet another one - a typical friendly and helpful Cape Bretoner - gave me much assistance.

Holiday Inn accept pets and most have been outstanding in my travels both with YY, my bunny and previously other animals.

I think personally, it is all in the planning! (and meeting good people along the way helps!)
