cleaning advice and tips

March 30th, 2005, 12:28 PM
Ok. I admit, I suck at managing my household cleaning. Right now I need to clean the whole house BAD and don't really want to. Any ideas?

I find my biggest problem is the clutter on top of the stuff that needs to be cleaned. I have really been trying to reduce clutter, but I suck at it. When I come home, that mail goes on a bookcase at the front door. Now there is a stack there that is 3 inches high!! I also hate that when you clean counters, bathtub, floor, etc, you have to move everything off it/them...and that's where I get stuck.

Anyone who has had a home for a while got any tips?? This apartment (2 bedrooms) is the largest place I have lived in so far and I feel so bad at how dirty it gets!!

I totally agree Eleni, Flylady is the best. :thumbs up I am gratefully
clutter free, although I still have a problem with the "where are
your shoes" thing. I hate wearing shoes in the house.
Raingirl, try it out, you really have nothing (except clutter &
mess) to lose.

What we did was buy a huge dresser with doors. Like a wardrobe of sorts. You just jam everything in there. I have a tiny apt too and we're up to our eye balls. We also buy little filing folders to file away all the mail into neat little boxes.
