Another feeding question....

March 24th, 2005, 09:22 PM
We have a 10 wk old lab/mix puppy named Darcy, who up until tonight was eating Iams Puppy (sorry, sorry, we didn't know better until I started visiting here!). Tonight I began the gradual introduction of her new food (Nutro NC Ultra Puppy) mixed with the old food. My problem is this: she immediately picked out and ate the new food and left the Iams in the should I keep mixing them as recommended, or take her cue and just give her the Nutro? Thanks.

It depends if it is too hard for the doggy's stomach. If she can take it, it may be ok. Otherwise, I would feed the Iams portion first and when that is finished, give the Nutro portion.

Many dogs are fine when just feed the new food, Blaze was put right on Nutro at 9 weeks and was fine... no problems with poops. Some dogs must be mixed... mix and let her eat what she likes.
