Moving & I want to make it stress free...

For our 9-month old cat Brackley. We are moving into a brand new house (just built) at the end of April and I want to know what the best way is to introduce him to the new house.

My concern is that we are in a bungalow now, and he will be going to a 2300 sq.ft. house - a big difference for the little guy. He adapts to change pretty well, but I am still concerned. I want him to be happy too.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Here's how I always did it.

Take the cat to the new home and have all his stuff in one room - litterbox, food, beds, etc. Put him in the room and close the door. Leave a radio playing.

Let him get used to the new room until he feels very comfortable. Go in and visit him as often as possible. After a day or so, if he follows you to the door when you leave the room, just leave the door open and allow him to come out and explore in his own time and own pace.

Another suggestion is to get Brackley a little pal to play, explore and cuddle with.:) Only cats are lonely cats!
