Clomipramine / Feliway

Hey everyone!

My cat is on the anti-anxiety drug Clomipramine, and I wondered if anyone else has a cat on this? I tried it last year and it worked well. But she reverted back to her aggressive behaviour once off it, so she's back on it now. I found some info about it on these boards

Also has anyone tried Feliway? I dont have a urine problem with her, but I also read it can help with aggression. I just order the plug-in version from the states.

Yes, I haved tried it and we are now putting our cat on Clomipramine. He was mutilating his tail and Feliway didn't work. We have the plugins all over our house, as well as the spray. I just read a peer reviewed article that states that it only has a 33.3% chance of eliminating the behavior. It does have a high rate to reduce the behavior, but not to eliminate it, which is what you want, I would suspect.

With issues like that, feliway can sometimes help, but my cat who has 'issues' is on prozac. Feliway did not help her at all. It's not that feliway doesn't work, it's just sometimes cats who have really bad issues need a more direct approach.

My cats problem was biting people, being super demanding and peeing in peoples shoes/on rugs. The prozac has done wonders. She rarely pees on anything anymore and her attitude has gone down a notch. We tried going without it and she immediately started freaking out. So, I'd rather do the prozac then have a psycho cat in my house :p

I too bought Feliway plugins cheap on E-Bay for a couple of years and they worked to get my spraying cats to stop.
On the other hand,I am not sure if the Tapazole(for Hyperthyroidism)are the meds that really calmed him down and stopped him from spraying,not the Feli-Way.:confused:
