Get Involved

This is for anyone with any breed of dog.Get involved in any breed ban legislation,write letters to different levels of government,letters to editor ,whatever.In England they have the dangerous dog legislation,this has resulted in dogs being seized and it is up to the owners to prove they are not any of the listed breeds,regardless of temperament.Dogs have been euthanized,died in seizure and owners have been faced with unbelievable legal fees.England is probably one of the most dog friendly countries and if laws like this can be passed there,it can also happen here.The government is starting with pits ,but any large dominant or who knows maybe they just have to look scary to someone breed could be added.The legislation in it's current form leaves that option open to them at later dates.Anyway I don't mean to sound paranoid,but laws like this must be stopped by all of us.The OSPCA,CKC,the Ontario and Canadian vet associations have all come out in protest saying these laws will not work.In more than twenty years of working with dogs I have been bitten once,by a pom.(now there's a breed they should ban,just kidding!)
