Hi marcyj and welcome to the board. I can't help you with the cat question as I don't have a cat but have patience their are cat people here that may be able to answer it for you. :)

If the cat is in heat then she can be pregnant. After she has been bred by a male, her heat cycle may still last a few days, normally up to 4. I hope this is not the case and that you get her spayed asap due to the vast number of unwanted kittens/cats.
