My dog is driving me crazy. He licks the sofa, bedspread, and carpet habitually to such an extent that I have very large watermarks. It is hard to control, any advice?

I'll be interested in the response to this as well. Den-Den likes to lick my hubby's pillow too, but not mine.

You two have this in common, at least!

It could be the start of an obsessive/compulsive disorder OR it might be that he gets attention for it. Becareful how you react to him when you catch him in the act.
It would be good to teach him the 'leave it' command so that you can begin to teach him that licking those items is not permissable, but you could be risking that he will transfer his licking to himself.
Getting plenty of exercise and giving him lots of jobs could help to tire him and distract him. Hiding his dinner all over the house for him to find can also kick in the hunting instinct and give him a purpose in life. A busy dog doesn't have time for bad/odd behavior.
