I looked on the CKC website for information, but it didn't really give me enough information.

Has anyone had their dog tested?

Is it worthwhile?

Any pro's or con's about it you can share?

Thanks.

Your dog will need basic obedience training to get a CGN certificate.

You can go to the following site and scroll down. You'll find descriptions of all parts of the test there.

My GSD Tron had this testing done.He actually needed it before my brother went on with more training for the K9 Unit.To be honest, there are no cons to it. :)

Thanks for the post Daisy's Owner and thanks to you for that website LuckyRescue. I didn't even know that there was such a thing. It will give my Molly and I something to strive for as we develope our relationship. She is already is the best family member and the website gave me some ideas to work on to help her be the best neighbor too. :thumbs up

My dogs have - here in the US it's CGC (Canine Good Citizen.)
The only concrete benefit I can think of, is I know some rental places - if you rent your home - will actually require this before you can rent with your dog!
The intangible benefits....well, it's just nice to know you have dogs who can pass. :)
