Does anyone know why Sabrina skin is so red? Her ears, paws and anywhere that should be white looks very red. She also seems to itch a lot. I have been gone for about 2 1/2 weeks (my brother and sister had been taking care of her for me) so I have no idea what's wrong with her. I gave her a bath (with only warm water) last night and it seems to relieve some of the itchness. The red comes and goes quite frequent. Anyone knows why? She's a very allergic cat. When we lived in Vancouver, she was extrememly allergic to our carpet. Please help. I am feeding her Science Diet for Senior Cat Hairball formula mix with sensitive skin and dental health (also S.D.). Thanks again.

This won't solve your problem--but wouldn't it be better to switch to Z-d also made by HIlls Science Diet, if she is so allergic in general?
Does she go out? Where are you located?

I am wondering if she has kitty acne -often caused by stress - you can read about it here:
Does she maybe suffer seperation disorder?

After you and the vet rule out allergies. Could it be your kitty has dry skin. both of mine suffer from dry ichy skin in the winter ..... as soon as the furnace kicks on. So the vet suggested to try a supplement or a spray conditioned the conditioner can get messy. I give them fish oil tablets and another one that is chicken flavored. Depending on the soft food I am giving them that morning. It took about 3 days to notice the extra shine in there coat and so far so good.
