Spay Incision open????

Hello, I am wondering if this is a problem or not.

Last Tuesday I took my cat Gypsy to another vet in Houston that does low cost spays and neuters. Since we took in three orphan kittens in April this year we cannot afford to have them all fixed at our regular vet.

Well, the surgery went fine and she just layed around for a few days. She appears to not be in pain and is taking her antibiotics twice a day.

What bothers me is the "hole" in her abdomen. If you lay her on her back and look at her belly it just appears that a little hole is there. It is not red or oozing and she is not licking it so I am unsure if I should go to the vet. Is this normal? Will it just heal up and I should not worry?

If a photo is necessary let me know and I can quickly snap a photo for reference.

Thank You,
Gypsymama

Does she have stitches?

You should definitely call the vet and explain exactly what you see. You may or may not need to take her back. I've never seen something like this but if the edges of the "hole" heal up without closing up, it may stay open.

OH, and thanks for saving the kitties and being so responsible.:)
