Comments, ideas requested.
Duke is ten months now and in my opinion, housebroken. However, after training last night he peed in the house three times. We did nothing different. Let him out as much as usual etc. He never goes in the house overnight and in fact I have to wake him up to go out in the am and he dalys downstairs to the back door so he is usually in no hurry. He peed near the back door so it wasn't like he didn't want to go outside(once while I was up and another time while asleep) He peed in his favorite two spots to lie down and play as well. He has done this one other time after training and it resolved the next day and he hasn't gone in the house since last nights episode. What do you think?

Could be a UTI (urinary tract infection).

I doubt it because there is the pattern of being connected to a training night. We have a check up with the vet this coming Saturday am. The last time it happened it resolved the next day and I am thinking that is what will happen this time. UTIs don't resolve over a 24 hour period.

Could you explain a little more by saying he does this after a "training night". Do you mean obedience school...?
Are you really sure he is housetrained and understands what that means?
If so, then he could be marking, which has nothing to do with housetraining.
Is he lifting his leg?
I'm glad you're getting him checked. My dog just started peeing in the house, and sure enough she has an infection.:(

We need to understand more about "training night". Is it that he is exercised heavily and then he drinks more when he gets home? Is he under a lot of stress during training and again drinks more? Is it so physical that his muscles are tired & weak and he just can't hold it?

The training was sit, stay and come. It may very well stress him out that he can't play with the other dogs. And, he has his gentle leader for the duration. He wasn't hot last night or tired when it was over. He didn't drink a huge amount of water.
What I mean by housetrained is he askeds to go out when he needs to go, does not go in the house overnight while we are sleeping. Hasn't peed in the house since the training night maybe 4 weeks ago when the same thing occurred and prior to that hasn't gone in the house for at least two months and in the month prior only had one day of accidents because he didn't want to go out in the heavy rain.(gotten over that)

Is he neutered?

yes, he was neutered at six months and doesn't lift his leg when he urinates.
It is obedience.

Well, no accidents in the house yesterday or last night. Still don't really get why it happens. I guess I will ask the Vet what he thinks tommorow.

Do you do obedience throughout the day? or just on obedience night? I would encourage you to do your drills in little increments throughout the day so they become part of his routine and not such a big deal on obedience night. It is better for your relationship and his overall maturing.
Don't expect him to raise his leg yet, he is just getting to the age when he might start thinking about it.
