I heard this morning while the alarm clock radio went off at 5 a.m., so I was fairly groggy and unsure of the whole story content. What I did hear was that the liberals may be forced to call an election shortly as the rest of the parties want to give them the boot! Over what issues, I do not know, as I came in 1/2 way thru the story. Did anyone else hear this? Was I dreaming? Does this mean that pit bulls may potentially NOT be banned after all, if the fibs get tossed?

Well I think this must be federally because the liberals are a majority government provincially.

Yea, it is probably the Federal Liberals. I think there is a way for the Ontario Liberals, but it has to be a vote of non-confidence if the majority of Liberal back-benchers vote down a liberal bill, I believe. Or maybe not.
yea, I got nothing...

I am afraid the only way we will have peace of mind about BSL in Ontario before xmas is if MB takes a long walk off a short peer or something like that. oh thats terrible. I can't help it.

That is not terrible but so his end should be fitting you can say he was chased off the pier by a ticking time bomb with a locking jaw mechanisim that would make his final moment stellar

The next Ontario election will be in October 2007. You are stuck with Mcguinty til then.
As for the feds, don't expect an election for at least 6 months, but most likely a year plus.

The federal parties don't want an election yet---the CPC won't have their convention until March--after which they may start to consider an election...but until then they won't likely be interested in anything of the sort. As far as the BQ is concerned---an election for them only means losing seats so they won't want an election sooner than later either.
I'd say give it about 8 months and then check again :)
