The City of Brantford is adding breed specific clauses to their animal control by-laws TONIGHT!!! They are slated to go through first, second and third reading TONIGHT!!!! :eek:

No one seems to know about this and there is only one citizen speaking tonight on the subject. I have been added as a resolution so they might let me speak but it's not guaranteed. We need people in those seats!!! :grouphug: If you can make it, please do! This meeting starts at 6pm and clerk's office says it's a full agenda so it's going to be a long night for me

I wish you and your dog owners in Brantford the very best of luck in preventing any breed specific bans tonight. As you may have read on pets.ca, I have posted the similar scenario that London just endured. Some wise minds decided to hold off creating and enforcing any new bylaws until after Mr. Potato Head, Michael Bryant the tyrant, makes his move. No offense to Mr. Potato Head intended! We fought to be heard and we did get heard! Mind you, once the word got out that the city was holding this meeting, hundreds of people, almost entirely against BSL, showed up to voice their opinions. It is tragic that your meeting is slipping in unannounced! Typical strategy for the bigwigs!
Please let us know how your city decides as soon as you can. It is in everyone's interest to follow what your city and subsequent locales do regarding BSL.

Good luck brantford, I can only hope your councilors did there homework, as well as ours did here in Peterborough, We went through that scare here a few months ago. I was the only one there for the meeting on the side of the pit bulls, or so I thought, But one by one the counslers got up and spoke about why we should not ban pits in peterborough, only 2 were for the ban, Even our mayor was on the side of the pit bull. They then fired of a letter to Mr.Bryant asking for a bill that would deal with vicious dogs in general, and not a spacific breed, I'm sure Bryant fired that rite into the trash can.

They must know something all those other cities that turned down a ban don't. Oh I wish I could so enlightened...

So what happened? I missed everything....had to get my wisdom teeth pulled out...all bloody 4..
