The Black Russian Terrier is brave, observant, intelligent and
stubborn. He enjoys training and has a desire to please his
master. He is suspicious of strangers which makes him a good

Usually
good with children. Most find them fascinating. Good with other
pets in the family. Some do not like non-family dogs. |

Grooming needs |
Coat care should consist of brushing a minimum of 30 minutes/week,
he is a low shedding breed. Recommended to see a groomer every
6 weeks. |

|
The Black Russian Terrier
is a large to massive dog who's black hair has a distinctive "fall"
and a "beard" on head. They want to please their owner, so
will try anything you ask them! The Black Russian Terrier is considered
a jack of all trades of dog-dom. Able to do almost anything: protection,
herding, skijorring, obedience, tracking, sled dog, agility and show
dog. Developed by the government kennels as a military working dogs
just after World War II, his ancestors include the Giant Schnauzer who
was crossed with the Airedale, Rottweiler and a local dog called the
Moscow Retriever.
